Moynat, the esteemed Parisian trunkmaker, was established in 1849 by Octavie and François Coulembier. Their visionary collaboration with travel goods specialist Pauline Moynat led to the opening of their first store on Avenue de l'Opéra. This illustrious house gained renown for pioneering lightweight and waterproof trunk designs, while also showcasing its exceptional craftsmanship at various World's Fairs.

During the first half of the 20th century, Moynat epitomized a brand predominantly devoted to crafting exquisite trunks tailored for ladies of distinction.
